Language , languages, passport for life
"Who learns a new language acquires a new soul." This is the Andalusian poet and Nobel Prize for Literature in 1956 , Juan Ramón Jiménez ( Moguer, December 23, 1881 - San Juan, Puerto Rico, May 29, 1958 ) says that in his first prose in 1898 .
The poet is right and Vincent Lebbe , including Kot Carrefour - Vincent Lebbe owes its foundations can only confirm, who has done so much for openness to others and interculturalism .
And it's true: learning a language other than his own ,opens yourself to another world, another culture. It is also a simple, direct way to discover other potential rights, men and life. It is learning to look beyond our street, our culture .
And thus acquire a language , new language , it is quite extraordinary because, as the Chinese proverb says , " as well as rivers return to the sea, the gifts of the man back to him " and therefore necessarily everyone is raised by this beautiful adventure of learning a language other than his own. And work on the language of others involves working on our own language.
And for once, the university campus of Louvain -la-Neuve is, with its 127 nationalities, a great place to engage the opening of other languages and cultures of the world, while his university studies. Inexpensively, but with a genuine commitment, the key to success.
This is all the good that we want to end this 2013 and the new year.
